David Chinyama comes from Zimbabwe and is a passionate painter whose images can be seen not only in his homeland, but also in cities like New York and Paris. In the summer of 2010 he exhibited in Heidelberg, and it was only a small step that Eva Buckman should get to know this remarkable artist.
As a result of the artistic encounter of David Chinyamas with the Africa choirs Heidelberg an enthusiastic audience experienced a special concert with painting as a live act in autumn 2010. During a concert of the two choirs Mokolé and Mokoyaala Chinyama painted simultaneously on seven screens, as a visual realization of the musical and rhythmic experiences.
Following the concert the seven pictures created from the inspiration of song, dance and percussion were auctioned to the audience. The proceeds from this auction will go to the Children's Aid-ART FOR HOPE program that David Chinyama has established in his home country.
